During the reign of Assyrian King |Assur-ah-iddin (681-669 BC), the main attacks of the Median population are attested, but they knew to oppose them the force of the Scythian tribes. In 615 BC King Cyaxares attacked Assyria at the same time with the Chaldeans. He occupied the upper Mesopotamia, kept under obedience the Persians and destroyed the State of Urartru (future Armenia).
